LE RETOUR (The Return) is an art object — the first photographic project by Roxane Cassehgari, born from her rediscovery of Iran after 20 years of absence.

Between a personal diary and a photographic notebook, the book explores the reconnection to a distant homeland and reflects a feeling shared by diasporas around the world — that moment of return, when one seeks to reconnect with their heritage.

ROXANE CASSEHGARI is a visual artist and photographer, born in France to an Iranian father and a Colombian mother. Alongside her artistic practice, she works as a human rights lawyer and researcher. While law and research allow her to formulate questions about the world, photography becomes a space of freedom — a more intuitive ground where she can explore what words cannot capture.
